FAQ California joins a growing list of States (31 to date) that require all journeyman electrical workers to take and pass mandatory electrical certification exams in order to legally work within their State. California electricians have until January 1, 2007 in which to comply with the state’s new mandatory certification program, but time is running out.

ANSWER: All electricians who make connections of greater than 100 volt amps working for C-10 Contractors QUESTION: I have a C-10 Contractors license; do I have to be certified? ANSWER: No, sole owners who have a license in their own name do not need to be certified. QUESTION: How exactly is electrical certification going to be enforced? ANSWER: Electrical certification will be enforced in the following ways.
