You must be approved by the State of California prior to scheduling your examination.

The state of California has contracted with Experior Assessments, LLC (Experior®) now Thomson Prometrics conduct its examination program.

Candidates may test at any of Experior’s/Thomson Prometrics twenty four California testing centers, which are listed above.

Other testing site locations may be added, based on anticipated statewide candidate volume. All questions and requests for information about examination administration should be directed to:

Upon receipt of your notice of eligibility you must arrange the time and place for taking your examination (original or retake) by calling (800).805-9123 between 5 a.m. and 6 p.m. (Pacific time). You may take your examination at any California Experior testing center.

Appointments are available six days per week at most centers. Schedule your test early to get your preferred site and time, preferably within 90 days from the date of your notice of eligibility.

If you miss or are late for your appointment, you will forfeit your examination fee.

If you need to change it between the time of scheduling and the test date,

you must contact Experior one full working day before your appointment to allow time to refill your appointment slot.

There is no testing on the following holidays
or weekends on which the holiday falls:

• New Year’s Day
• Independence Day
• Martin Luther King Jr. Day
• Labor Day
• President’s Day
• Thanksgiving & Friday After
• Memorial Day
• Christmas Eve, Day & Monday After

You may schedule your examination online anytime after you have received your notice of eligibility using our Internet Scheduling Service at www.experioronline.com. To use this service follow these easy steps:

Go to www.experioronline.com and select Construction.

Choose California from the list of states provided.

Click on Online Registration and Scheduling Services to create your own user id and password.

Follow the simple, step-by-step instructions to complete the registration process.

Complete the process by scheduling your examination appointment online.

To change your appointment time, you must call Experior. There must be at least one full business day between the day of your call and the day of your appointment.

Please refer to the schedule below before you call. If you do not allow three full business days, you WILL forfeit your exam fee.

If you do not allow enough time in rescheduling your appointment (per the chart), you will forfeit your fee and must pay the fee again prior to choosing another appointment. All fees must be paid to the Division of Apprenticeship Standards. Please call Experior at (800)805-9123 to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

If you miss your scheduled examination, you will forfeit your fee.

If you miss or are late arriving for your appointment, you will forfeit your exam fee. You will need to re-register for your exam

If you do not pass the exam, you must re-apply using another application form. You must wait sixty days between examination attempts. To schedule your retake exam follow the procedures described above. Another exam fee must be paid to the Division.
